CHMP Welcomes Tristin Aaron, Director of Communications

Tristin Aaron

Tristin Aaron is a veteran media trainer and communications professional with vast experience in a variety of social issues, entertainment, and politics. She began her career handling media and publicity for Berkeley, California’s legendary punk record label, Lookout!, home of Green Day, and later formed her own firm, Swell PR, placing cutting-edge music clients in national print, radio, television, and online outlets. Relocating from the Bay Area to New York, Ms. Aaron joined Ken Sunshine Consultants, representing celebrities, large-scale events, museums, theatrical productions, and books. In 2008, she became Media Director for the nonprofit Women’s Media Center (founded by Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda, and Robin Morgan). As co-head trainer for Progressive Women’s Voices, the premiere media-training program for progressive women in the U.S, Aaron coached and secured thousands of media placements for thought leaders in health care, science, social justice and many other fields. She has worked closely with every major media outlet, including the New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, the Associated Press, NPR, the Huffington Post, and thousands more. Her writing has appeared in Salon and Time Out New York, among other publications. Ms. Aaron joins the Center for Health, Media and Policy at Hunter College as Director of Communications.
